ERA-CAPS Network welcomes new Hungarian partner

As of June 2013, the Centre for Agricultural Research (MTA-ATK) from Hungary has joined the ERA-CAPS Consortium. The largest agricultural research complex in Hungary is part of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and will provide technical expertise to the Network as well as linkages to the Hungarian research community in plant science.

The Centre carries out basic and applied R&D and promotes the internationalisation of Hungarian research in the field of agriculture, soil and environmental science as well as veterinary science. In terms of plant science the Centre’s research activities focus on plant adaptation and stress resistance. It is expected that MTA-ATK will strengthen the activities of ERA-CAPS in Hungary and possibly help to facilitate the participation of Hungarian plant scientists in the second ERA-CAPS joint transnational call, to be launched in early 2014. As such, the Centre is considered to be an important asset to the existing ERA-CAPS Network.  Hungarian plant scientists who are interested in ERA-CAPS can contact Dr Ervin Balázs for further information (balazs(at)mail.mgki.hu).
